Tay Hoe Lian was appointed as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of GCB on 8 January 2005.
He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the College of Business Administration at the University of Toledo in the United States in 1993. Upon his graduation, he was appointed as Transport Division Manager at JB Cocoa Group Sdn Bhd.
In 1997, he joined GCCM as the Marketing Manager and accrued extensive experience in marketing cocoa powder to the European, Middle East and South American markets. In 1999, he was elected as a Director of GCCM and was later promoted to the position of General Manager in 2002 and Managing Director in 2003. Supported by his contributions, GCCM has successfully expanded its production capacity to become one of the leading players in the global cocoa bean processing industry in terms of processing capacity and market share.
He was elected as a member of the Malaysian Cocoa Board, which is under the purview of the Malaysian Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities, and will hold the position from 1 February 2023 to 31 January 2025. |
